About me

I am a Psychology Ph.D. working at Johns Hopkins University Mental Health Services as a Staff Psychologist. Over the years I have worn many hats, which continues to be a constant feature of my life. I would be upset, but my many and differing roles all flow from who I am and what I care about. In that light, I feel very fortunate to be where I am.

My claim to fame is my usage of tabletop RPGs in therapy settings. In this area I am fortunate to have been given the chance to speak and educate around the world. I have recently been honored with speaking engagements and an interview in TIME Magazine on the usage of gaming in promoting mental health.

These days I spend much of my time running gaming and geek culture based groups, outreach events, and trainings for clinicians. I train our MHS Psychology interns on a variety of topics including Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. In my other professional time I speak and consult on topics with colleagues and interested parties around the world.
